Okay, long time no post, been busy :) Here’s an update (I will try and put it in order of events) Snowboarding lessons where cancelled, due to me falling quite badly and hurting my back, I did go a couple of times later on with a couple of friends and can just about manage a blue slope, but I had another nasty fall and the old injury resurfaced. So that put an end to snowboarding. Around Easter we went on the “Glacier Express”. An 8 and half hour train trip from Zermatt to St. Mortiz. Loads of photos taken (I am trying to upload the photos on to the site).
Chrystel got a scooter for her birthday in May, and I believe she sent a photo of it to most of you :), which she uses to go work on. During June and the beginning of August I was in France helping Chrystel’s stepfather renovate a house for one of his clients. It was had work, but good fun. The summer whizzed by this year. A few friends came to visit and we visited a few friends. We spent our two weeks holiday in “Mourieras” at Chrystel’s fathers house. It was a quiet couple of weeks, a few walks and visiting the area. Chrystel has done a few more walks this year, the photos will be on the web at some point.
At the end of August I started working full-time for the company I had been helping out and working part-time at. We went to see “The Police” in concert at Geneva Stadium with my brother Keith, which was very good. I have taken up downhill mountain biking. There are a few of us who go for a ride every Sunday. We try and use single-track (sometimes there isn’t a path) routes where we can and keep off the roads. Chrystel has been very busy at work and is looking forward to the time off at Christmas.
The snow arrived here on the Jura about 13th November and has near enough stayed and not melt completely away like it did last year and the reports I have been hearing is that the snow has been very good for this time of year. The ski resort of Verbier opened a month earlier than last year due to the excellent snow conditions. This weekend they are expecting snow down to 800m, which allow a few slopes to open. And I haven’t given up on the winter sports. I have got ski lessons in January, so hopefully I will not hurt myself this time.
